Tulip Fever – Brand New Trailer!

Alicia Vikander has done the whole “married into a loveless marriage and choses to cheat on her husband with someone else” thing before. And it didn’t end well. Then again, Alicia Vikander is in every single movie ever so she’s probably done ever plot that goes around. It’s just come full circle.

The film revolves around Sophie who is set to marry Cornelis Zandvoort, a successful merchant because she is told it will improve her life. However, unhappy at being wed to an older man, she finds herself drawn to an artist and looks to escape with him.

The film looks good and also stars Christoph Waltz and Dane DeHaan. Have a guess who is the villainous husband in all of this? Yes that’s right! Further typecast into his usual roles, it is a little disappointing to see him tackle this too. It could be good though.  Directed by Justin Chadwick and written by Shakespeare in Love’s Tom Stoppard, this could be amazing!

Tulip Fever is out July 15th

Captain Fantastic – Brand New Trailer!

There are plenty of weird families out there. Well, perceived weird families. After all, the collection of loved ones that we have around us have are a bunch of weirdoes anyway, so how can we judge colourful, vibrant, and surreal families, living in love and harmony?

That’s the point of this brand new film Captain Fantastic.

The film revolves around a family who live in the forest, isolated from society where a devoted father transforms his six children into extraordinary adults. However, when tragedy strikes, he must integrate them with the outside world.

With sentiments like Little Miss Sunshine and Moonrise Kingdom, the movie has been heralded as one of the most upbeat and emotional movies of the summer. Also, Viggo Mortenson is one of our greatest actors so it’s great to see him in a role that he can probably utilise.

Captain Fantastic is out 16th September

X-Men: Apocalypse – Brand New Clip!

We are all in the throes of Civil War mayhem. The third Captain America film has us soiling our star-spangled underwear as the apparent “greatest Marvel movie eva #winning” sells out screens this weekend. But it is good to remember that there are more superhero movies on their way. Including X-Men: Apocalypse!

After the events of Days of Future Past, there is something stirring within the mutant community. Worshipped as a god since his birth, Apocalypse hunts down powerful mutants to become immortal and invincible. Recruiting more mutants to his fold, including the heartbroken Magneto (after leaving Charles and walking this world alone,) the fate of the world is left in the hands of Raven, Professor X and the young X-Men.

In this latest clip, Moira from First Class is back and Xavier talking about their new threat – Apocalypse. With the world in more danger than it ever has been, can the X-Men survive this threat?

X-Men: Apocalypse is out May 18th

The Trust – Brand New Trailer!

I kinda feel sorry for Nic Cage. A once promising actor has become a bit of a joke. His set antics, weird habits, and god-awful films has drenched his superb talent in jokes and humour. The star is often met with guffaws and titters that any new project he has coming up is met with laughter.

But could The Trust see him return?

Featuring two big names playing two nobodies, The Trust follows the story of two jaded cops, Jim Stone (Nicolas Cage) and David Waters (Elijah Wood), as they use their police skills to break the law. Stuck behind desks, Stone and Waters are understandably sick of the daily grind and are quick to grasp at any opportunities to escape it. When they find a drug dealer’s secret vault, a metaphorical fork in the road appears. Report it and be awesome cops…or steal it and be awesomer criminals? The latter certainly makes for a more entertaining film.

The Trust has been heralded as Nic Cage’s return to acting form which is exciting and the bug-eyed Elijah Wood always delivers his best work in smaller independent films (Frodo aside) so there is something must-see in this film. That being said, how many films have we seen about corrupt cops? Too many. Far too many.

What do you think?

The Trust is out May 20th
