Home – Word Refugee Day Short Film

What is a refugee?

What are they?

Human. That’s all. Humans trying to survive. Humans who can no longer live in the place they called home. Humans who need sanctuary from the war that has obliterated them. Humans who need help, aid, and more.

Refugee’s are human.

In an effort to promote World Refugee Day, actors Jack O’Connell and Holliday Grainger have created a powerful twenty minute short film, crafted in three different countries, called Home. The film revolves around an English family who experience a life changing journey of their own.

Directed by Daniel Mulloy, the film aims to remind viewers that refugees are humans trying to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their family as they undergo a traumatic change in the term “home.” Working with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency will be screened in selected cinemas nationwide from the 20th June.

Brilliant work with actors, artists, and a director aiming to combat the puerile media assumption that refugee means anything other than “human.”
