Ghost in the Shell – Official Trailer!

How does one begin to define cultural appropriation in cinema?

It’s a question you have to objectively ask when you come face to face with movies such as this. After all, an American remake of a popular anime/manga has sparked controversy already. So talk to yourself: Is it merely a celebrationg of the Japanese product or is it borrowing it skin negating American Japanese actors and their heritage?

The film, directed by Rupert Sanders and starring Scarlett Johnasson revolves around a cyborg law enforcer who leads a high-tech team of police to hunt down dangerous criminals and extremists.

Don’t get me wrong, the film looks incredible  but there is still something unnervingly problematic about it. What do you think?

Ghost in the Shell is out 2017
