The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is the story of Juliet (Lily James), a struggling author who receives correspondence from the Guernsey Litera- Nope, just look at the title, and becomes infatuated with the stories of World War Two survivors as they detail their experiences in Nazi occupied Guernsey.
The film doesn’t look to be anything particularly special, but it’s an interesting story and Lily James is a great young talent, so hopefully it should be pretty decent.
I don’t know what potato peel pie is, but I already hate it.
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is out 20th April.
Why do producers and directors doom their investment/art with such stupid and pretentious titles? Seriously, who’s going to see this movie?

Isn’t the title the title of the book? So in this incidence not producer’s fault?

Just seen trailer on tv. Book sounds interesting but do not think will have time to buy and read before film released.

It very well may be a wonderful book. In my opinion, however, the movie would be better served with another title. Producers do this all the time. The movie Get Carter is adapted from the book Jack’s Return Home. Nicholas Ray’s film They Live by Night is adapted from the novel Thieves Like Us–just two of many examples. I think readers are more discerning group–generally speaking–than movie goers. As such they are more willing to look beyond the title. But maybe not.
