92nd Academy Awards – Predictions

The Academy Awards are fast approaching. With the stars of Hollywood and film descending the red carpet, there are many curious to who we think is going to win or not.

Though acting awards seem locked in, Phoenix, Zellwegger, Dern, and Pitt already scooping up the most awards this season, there could still be surprises. Other “we predict this will win but it is unlikely not to,” is Joker for Score, 1917 for Cinematography, and Ford vs Ferrari for Editing.

Our biggest surprise prediction is that Parasite is going to scoop Best Picture. Sam Mendes is likely to scoop Best Director but with the hype around Bong Joon Ho’s masterpiece, we think it will win both Best International Film and Best Film. We also think that Joon Ho will scoop up Best Original Screenplay. Jojo Rabbit is likely to scoop Best Adapted Screenplay

Best Animation is the trickiest one without the juggernaut Frozen 2. I personally would love to see I Lost My Body shine but we think this one belongs to Klaus.

Still with all this about, the Academy Awards seem to be staler this year. Overall, with all the technical categories, we think 1917 will win big.
